Margaret "Mildred" Hawk

Mrs. Margaret "Mildred" Hawk, age 93 of Covington, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 in Social Circle. She was born on March 11, 1930 to Ernest and Rosie Johnson who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Hawk was a lifelong resident of Newton County and worked at The Porterdale Mill. A very giving and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who dedicated her life to taking care of her loving son, Paul, who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis. She sold Avon Products in the Newton County area for 47 years. She was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle and attended the Church of The Nazarene.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Hawk is preceded in death by her husband John Floyd Hawk, her sons Tim Hawk and Paul Hawk. She is survived by her son Jody Hawk (Rhonda) of Monroe; grandchildren Katelyn Butler and Tiar McCart; great grandchildren Brayden and Waverly Lord, Riden Claire and Raegan Rose Butler along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hawk will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, June 8, 2023 in the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Suzette Slade officiating. Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm prior to the service.
