Margaret LaVergne Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory - Broussard on Jan. 12, 2026.
Margaret Ann Arsing LaVergne, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away at home on January 5, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born on April 12, 1955.

Margaret dedicated many years to her professional life, serving faithfully in several roles throughout the area. She worked as Property Manager at Beau Sejour, a Medical Billing Specialist at Lafayette General, and as an Office Manager at various chiropractic clinics. She later retired from Gifted Healthcare, where she was employed as a Staffing Specialist. Margaret took great pride in her work and formed many meaningful friendships along the way.

Outside of her career, Margaret loved flowers and gardening, had an appreciation for cars, and truly enjoyed shopping and attending sporting events, especially those she attended with her son. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with family, particularly her son and his family. At home, she enjoyed cleaning and cooking while worshipping the Lord through preaching ministries she followed faithfully, including Jimmy Swaggart, Jesse Duplantis, and as a devoted supporting member of Hagee Ministries. She also shared an especially close bond with her beloved dog, Pax, whom she missed dearly during the last year of her life.

Margaret is survived by her son Jason LaVergne and his wife, Satin Perez; her two granddaughters, Vivian and Victorian LaVergne; also, two half brothers; and two half sisters.

She was previously married to Bobby LaVergne with whom she shared 24 years of marriage and raised two sons.

She is preceded in death by her nanny, Ethel Foret, who raised her; son, Josh A. LaVergne; father, Victor Arsing; mother, Vivian Guidry; sister, Patricia "Tricia" Arsing; and brother, Donald Broussard.

Special thanks are extended to her neighbor, Tracey Martin, for caring for Margaret and her cats daily; to Satin, whom Margaret lovingly called "daughter," who shared life with her and cared for her over the past several years; and to Vivian and Victorian for their help at home when it was just Mimi and her girls.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory, 108 Hardware Rd. Broussard, LA, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hagee Ministries in Margaret's memory.
