Margaret Ellen Mikes

Margaret "Peggy" Ellen Mikes (nee Ink) passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on October 31, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Peggy's love for her family was evident in the time she spent with them. As one of nine children in the Ink family, she truly valued the importance of togetherness and shared experiences. She found great joy in family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and simply being together. Whether it was sharing stories, laughter, or creating lasting memories, Peggy cherished every moment with her loved ones.

One of the special joys in Peggy's life was having a Halloween birthday. Born October 31, she delighted in celebrating each year with festive decorations, costumes, and gatherings that brought together family and friends for both birthday cheer and Halloween fun. Peggy embraced the whimsy and excitement of sharing her birthday with one of the most playful holidays, making every celebration memorable with her warmth and spirited enthusiasm.

Peggy built a 40-year banking career, beginning at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland before moving to National City and later becoming an Operations Management leader at Huntington Bank. While working full-time and raising her family, she earned her bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace. Once retired, she filled her free time as a volunteer at Providence House, caring for infants and children whose families were facing crisis, and was a dedicated foster mom for many dogs.

She is survived by her children, Beth Mikes, Albert (Amy) Mikes (nee Lindner), and Jeff Mikes. Peggy was a cherished grandmother to Connor Mikes, Hayden Mikes, Andrew Mikes, and Julia Mikes. She was a beloved sister to Nancy (Dick) Jozsa, Mary Ink, Nora Dovichak, Barbara (John) Hemsath, Kathryn (Tom) Hemsath, and Joan (Richard) Beach. She will also be greatly missed by her lifelong friends, our aunts Cheryl Gorey and Susan Wilks.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret (nee Sullivan) Ink and siblings Richard Ink, Janet (Dave) Geraci, and brother-in-law Bob Dovichak.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2,2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, Ohio 44011. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church,33601 Detroit Rd., Avon, Ohio 44011. Private interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Avon, Ohio.
