Margaret Ocampo Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 26, 2023.
Maggie passed away on September 22nd, 2023 at home. She was born August 30th, 1988 in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Southwest Christian School from preschool through 12th grade, graduating in 2007. She graduated from Texas Christian University's Harris School of Nursing with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in December 2010. She continued her education with a Masters of Science in Nursing from Aspen College in 2020. Maggie was a member of the Kappa Eta chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority at TCU. Maggie's nursing career took her to several different hospital including Medical Plaza Ft. Worth, Methodist Charlton, Methodist Mansfield, and Cancer Institute of Dallas. She was an LVN instructor for three years at Concord College and most recently worked for Rehab At Home in Arlington, TX. Maggie was a dedicated and compassionate nurse providing excellent care for all of the patients and students that she served and taught. Her passion was oncology and felt it was her true calling. She was originally led to this line of work after walking through the loss of her grandfather in 2005 to pancreatic cancer. As a result of Maggie's exceptional care for patients, a generous endowment was made to the Harris School of Nursing in her honor by the husband of a former patient.
Maggie was a dedicated and faithful follower of Christ, growing up in St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church surrounded by generations of her family, followed by Rush Creek Church Mira Lagos in Grand Prairie, and most recently at Cross City North Church in North Fort Worth.
Over the past several years, Maggie has struggled with challenges to her health from her auto-immune disorders including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hashimotos. Even though she was often in unbearable pain, she put on a courageous smile and pushed through each day the best she could, while raising awareness to all those around her of people struggling with EDS. Maggie was kind and compassionate with a beautiful smile. She was also spunky and strong-willed. If she made up her mind about something, we always knew she would do it. Even in her final weeks during her hospitalization, Maggie was teaching her nursing staff tips that she had learned through her years in nursing. Maggie's presence will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Maggie is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Phillip Ocampo, parents Garner & Melodye Roberts, older sisters Lauren Roberts Keene & husband Christopher, Emily Roberts Campbell & husband Mike, sister-in-law Suzanne Ocampo Wittman & husband Ward, grandmothers Jeanelle Smith Roberts & Nancy Hankins Swan, in laws Fred & Carolina Ocampo, four nephews Ryan, Ethan, & Logan Campbell and Sam Wittman, and four nieces Naomi & Violet Keene and Megan & Emma Wittman, many cousins, aunts and uncles & fur babies Snickers, Scruffy, and Nix.
A memorial service will be held at Rush Creek Church on Green Oaks in Arlington, Texas on September 30th, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. celebrating the life of Margaret Anne Roberts Ocampo.
