Gary Eugene Whites

Service for Gary Eugene Whites, 84, of Burleson, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Pathway Church, 325 N.W. Renfro, in Burleson. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne.  Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the funeral home.

 

Gary passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Fort Worth. He was born June 24, 1939, in Cleburne. He married Sheila Pearl Ward on January 27, 1962, in Cleburne. Gary was a coach, educator, and mentor for 57 years. He coached at Burleson High School, Southwest Christian School, and Lake Country Christian School. Gary was a member of the Burleson High School’s Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2015. He was a loving father and grandfather. He acted as a “mentor and surrogate father” for many.

 

Gary is survived by his sons, Robert Ward Whites of Waco and Christopher Wade Whites and wife Kelly of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Blaze Ward Whites of Dallas, McKenna Ryan Whites of Fort Worth, Hayden Christopher Whites of Fort Worth, Ryan Harrison Whites of Fort Worth; brother, Jon Whites of Cleburne; sister, Jeanita Masters of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Glenda Ward Reitzell of Huntsville, Alabama; brother-in-law, Johnny Reitzell  of Huntsville, Alabama and daughter-in-law Lisa Mayo Whites of Port Aransas and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Gary is preceded in death by his parents James Thomas Whites and Lucy Pauline (Browning) White; wife Sheila Whites and brother J.T. Whites.
