David Floyd Russell was born in Fort Worth, Texas on January 9, 1963 to Floyd and Betty (Green) Russell. He passed away peacefully late Sunday evening February 1, 2026 as he was brought home by his Heavenly Father surrounded by his family.
David grew up in Burleson with his parents and his three siblings. Tammi Bullard, Mike Russell, and Amanda Martinez.
David graduated from Burleson High School in 1981.
He enjoyed karate, playing softball and coaching his son in baseball, and being involved in many other sports.
In 1990 he met the love of his life, Cindy. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, a tender grandpa "Blue", and a giving brother. David was a strong Christian man and loved sharing the love, mercy, and grace of his Savior to many. He was faithful to spend time in God's presence and was especially motivated by worship music. David also loved traveling with Cindy and their friends. They had many great adventures, traveling and exploring God's creation. The greatest adventure was raising their three kids, Brian, Hannah, and Abigail, and devoting their upbringing in a faith-based relationship with Christ. Spending time with his friends and family, catching up and reminiscing about old times, making new friends, and having people over always made his heart smile.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Russell and Betty Armour, his brother, Mike Russell, and his daughter, Hannah Russell.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Russell and their two children.
Brian Russell and wife Lauren of Burleson, Texas.
Abigail Vincent and husband Chance and their children, Spencer and Theo of Joshua, Texas.
David and his contagious laughter and love of life will be missed, but will forever be in our hearts.
