Margaret Ann Olson

Margaret Ann Olson (Marge), 87, a longtime resident of Puyallup, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Allenmoore hospital in Tacoma from respiratory problems. Her son Clay and daughter-in-law Cathie were at her side.
Margaret was born in Castle Rock, Washington to Hal Sr. and Naomi Laudermilk on November 7, 1934. She had 3 brothers. They moved to Seattle where she attended Ballard High School, met and fell in love with LeRoy C. Olson (Roy), and were married December 16, 1950. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Margaret baked many delicious treats that she shared with others. She was most famous for her "red cake" (red velvet cake) which was always covered with a fluffy, cooked 7 minute frosting and sprinkled with red sugar crystals. We all loved this beautiful cake and enjoyed it on special occasions like birthdays, Easter and Christmas.
Margaret had many interests over the years including cruising in their old cars with her husband Roy (Olys32), car shows, camping, traveling, and visiting friends and family. She also did lovely handwork like embroidery, quilting, knitting and enjoyed reading, Word Search, and collecting decorative plates, dolls and glassware.
Margaret is survived by her son Clayton (Cathie); grandchildren Jessica Fogg (Taegan), Tom Olson (Valerie), and Bryan Finlay; great grandchildren Harper, Jovie, and Stevie Olson. She's also survived by her brothers George (Gaylene), Paul (Cindi) and various nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Roy Olson, parents Hal Sr. and Naomi Laudermilk, brother Hal Laudermilk Jr., daughters Denise Finlay, Melanie Olson, and son Tommy Olson.
Margaret was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sorely missed.

Margaret's funeral arrangements were made under the kind and thoughtful care of Weeks' Dryer Mortuary.
