Margaret Booth Perry, a beloved member of the Apex, North Carolina community, passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 93. She was born on June 20, 1930, in Wake County, North Carolina, to William Jennings Booth and Addie Capps Booth.
Mrs. Perry was a trailblazer in her field, becoming one of the first two female pharmacists to graduate from UNC Chapel Hill. She leaves behind a legacy as the proud owner of Apex Pharmacy for two decades, providing dedicated service to her community. Throughout her life, she remained a devoted supporter of the UNC Ram's Club for 60 years and a passionate Tar Heel fan.
Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, as she was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church, where she also skillfully played the organ for an impressive 65 years. Mrs. Perry's dedication to her church and its community was truly admirable and inspiring to all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her loving sons, Jimmy Perry (Lisa) of Apex, and Mike Perry (Liz) of Acton, MA, as well as her brother, Bill Booth (Mary Lou) of Apex. She will be deeply missed by her adoring grandchildren: Adam Perry, Brooke Perry, Ethan Perry, and David Perry; and her six cherished great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Perry, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories.
The family will be receiving friends at Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, August 5, from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm on the same day at Salem Baptist Church, with Reverend T. Thomas officiating. The interment will take place at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to the Salem Baptist Church, 1821 N. Salem St., Apex, NC 27523, with the memo indicating support for the Music Ministry, reflecting Margaret's deep appreciation for music and worship.
During this time of grief, the family finds solace in knowing that Margaret Booth Perry touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her dedication to her profession, community, and faith serves as an inspiration for generations to come. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
