Margaret "Peggy" Rastiello

Margaret (Peggy) Rastiello of Hatboro passed away on November 7th 2023. She was the beloved daughter of Helen and the late Michael Rastiello.
Peggy spent many summers working with students at Cinekyd, a local motion picture production company. She was an actor, make-up artist and photographer.
After graduating from Upper Moreland High School in 1978, Peggy attended Temple University and Villanova University. She received her BA in Business from Textile University, now Philadelphia University. Peggy worked with several companies Including Benjamin Obdyke where she specialized in Human Resources and accounting.
Peggy was always looking to help younger girls become strong and independent. She was an avid supporter of the Girl Scouts. She even portrayed Juliette Lowe, the founder of the Girl Scouts, in a Philadelphia 4th of July Parade.
Peggy loved to travel and enjoyed working in the garden. She studied and became a Master Gardener.
She shared her knowledge of gardening with others by teaching the various benefits of plants at Hatboro Horsham night school, a variety of libraries, garden clubs and community groups. Peggy was also a member of the Tamanend Park Herb Gardening Club.
Her love of plants and combined with her interest in photography lead Peggy to publish several calendars filled with beautiful horticultural photographs.
For many years, Peggy and her mother taught ceramics to several youth groups as well as homemakers, family and friends. She took great pride in bringing out the creativity of others and helping them to beautify their homes with seasonal crafts.
Peggy is survived by her mother Helen and her partner Michael May.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
