Margaret Dignam Sartoris passed away July 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband and best friend Patrick (who passed in 1996), her brother John Dignam, her sister-in-law Carolann Dignam Flaherty, and her niece Mary Sohn.

Margaret leaves behind her cherished children: Carolanne (Arthur) Guzzo, Jeanine Sartoris, Thomas (Melissa) Sartoris, and Joanne (Michael) Debellis. She also leaves her sisters Carol Dignam Sohn (George) and Anne Dignam Ramos (Jose). Margaret was immensely proud of her 11 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Margaret dedicated 32 years of her life to her career at Putnam Hospital, later continuing her work at Arms Acres in Carmel, NY. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always up for a good time and a trip with her children. Even when she was not feeling great, she would take the ride and enjoy the company, the show, or whatever activity was planned, never complaining. Margaret cherished her friendships and enjoyed organizing trips and events for "the seniors." She found great joy in entertaining friends and family at her home in Lake Carmel.

All are welcome to attend visitation on Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Margaret Sartoris to Putnam County Humane Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate Margaret's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1 Doherty Road, Carmel, N.Y.

Following the Mass, Margaret will be escorted to her final resting place at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
