Margaret Ann Sawyer

Margaret Ann Wilson Sawyer, age 74, of Hertford, NC, peacefully passed away on May 21, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1949, in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Arrie Lee Wilson and Alice Bundy Wilson and was the widow of George Ernest Sawyer, Jr.
Margaret dedicated 28 years of her life as a sales associate at Walmart, where her warm smile and kind words brightened the days of all who crossed her path. She found joy in simple pleasures, with a heart that cherished family above all else, especially watching her grandchildren grow. Margaret had a green thumb and a deep love for gardening and flowers, always finding beauty in nature's creations. She also enjoyed having a good time, often seen partying and dancing with her loved ones.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Freddie Sawyer (Angel) and Danny Sawyer (Lisa); six cherished grandchildren, Kinsey Sawyer, Trent Sawyer, Bryson Sawyer, Cierra Haley, Casen Sawyer, and Brittany Brinson (Marshall), as well as one great-grandchild, Kennedy Brinson; two sisters, Trudy Miller and Connie Cone; and a brother, Lee Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her daughter, Tammy Sawyer.
A funeral service to honor Margaret's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Howard Sutton officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery. Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and love.
