Margaret was born October 9, 1929 in Beachmont, MA and was the daughter of Harold M. Armitstead and Gladys M. Humphrey. She grew up in Beachmont and graduated from Revere High School Class of 1947. After high school, she worked doing various clerical duties for Boston Insurance Company and General Electric Company.
She was the wife of Walter Edward "Ed" Sedler and was married February 8, 1953 in Revere. Together they shared over 65 years of marriage. After marriage, she resided in Topsfield, MA for more than 44 years. During that time she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Clerical Civil Service performing various duties for over 20 years until retirement.
After her retirement, she moved to Barrington, NH for over 17 years. Her later years were spent in South Berwick, ME (9 years) and finally at Sentry Hill Nursing Home, York Harbor, Maine.
She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Her favorite times were those spent at the family summer home of 64 years on Lake Winnipesaukee, Roberts Cove, Alton, NH. She enjoyed many gatherings there with her family and friends. She was an independent thinker with a witty sense of humor and her connection to the cartoon character Betty Boop. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was a gifted poet. She would write and recite poems at birthday, wedding and anniversary events. She easily wrote hundreds of them. It is what she brought to the party. She was a fan of BINGO and card games, especially cribbage and whist. She enjoyed attending grandchildren events, girlfriend meetings and "projects to restore" occupied her time. She actively supported local NH Park and Recreation activities, especially trips.
She is predeceased by her husband Ed of 65 years. Survivors include her 4 children and their spouses. Walter Edward "Ed" Sedler Jr. of Rochester, NH; Karen (Sedler) Stevenson and husband Richard Stevenson of Atkinson, NH; David and Diane Sedler of South Berwick, ME; Gary and Michele Sedler of York ME. She was the grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by her sister Virginia M Leuci of Smyrna, Delaware and brother James M Armitstead of West Greenwich, RI.
Finally, she would like to express special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Sentry Hill Nursing Home, York Harbor, ME for making the final chapter of her life a special one. The family is planning a private celebration of life this fall.

I will forever cherish our Friday mornings together. She made me laugh. We always had something to chat about. I will miss her dearly.

Heartfelt condolences to Marge's wonderful family. What fun memories of times with her and Ed at the lake with my mom (Tink) and Aunt Charlotte. May your memories make you smile and bring you comfort and peace.
