Margaret Clarine Simms

Margaret Clarine Simms, 102, stepped into eternity on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Country Club Retirement Campus in Ashtabula.
She was born in Hazard, KY on July 5, 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Muriel (Burner) Brewer.
Margaret deeply loved her family and was a kind and gentle woman. She shared her faith through her compassion and the way she treated others. When asked about the secret to her long blessed life, she would proudly say, "M&M's and God." Margaret had a wonderful sense of humor and especially enjoyed bingo at CCRC. For many years, she served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, board secretery, church custodian, and office assistant at Gateway Church (formally known as First Assembly of God).
Left to cherish the memories of Margaret is her daughter, Jeanne (Brian) Wright; grandchildren, Chuck and Brian Mitchell, Lisa (Wayne) Thatcher, Brandi and Corey Simms, Jason (Becky) and Amanda (Bryan) Campbell; a host of great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Clyde Brewer and Denna (Andy) Skaruppa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Simms; children, Joanne Mitchell and David Simms; granddaughter, Shellie Parker; siblings, Elizabeth Pence, Carl Brewer, and Lucille Jones; and her sister-in-law, Tay Brewer.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11AM-12PM at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. A time a sharing will take place at 12PM then the burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
