Margaret Elizabeth Snyder

With deepness of heart, the family of Margaret Elizabeth Snyder, “Peg,” announce her peaceful passing on March 24, 2025, only three short days after celebrating her 92nd birthday. She was born in Baldwinville, Massachusetts on March 21, 1933, to John and Lillian Fitzpatrick. She carried with her a spirit of resilience and dedication that never waned. She made her home in Rindge, New Hampshire, and filled it with love, laughter, and warmth, which showed through her affection to all who entered. Margaret was much more than the sum of her roles; she was a beacon of strength, a wellspring of wisdom, and an endless source of love. Hugs and kisses upon greeting and departing was the way she extended her affection to her family and dear friends.

Margaret spent much of her professional life as a machine operator, working diligently in the plastics industry. She worked for Ray Plastics in Winchendon and Avery Dennison in Fitchburg. Margaret's hobbies, too, reflected her gentle spirit and love for life. An accomplished knitter, she crafted countless pieces of love, she knitted hats, mittens, blankets, and clothing which she often gave to her children and grandchildren. Margaret also embraced the exhilaration of swimming at the local pool, lake, and especially Loved going to the ocean, a pastime that allowed her to connect with nature and find tranquility in its embrace.

Her involvement in a local grief support group was a testament to her enduring empathy and her desire to offer comfort and understanding to those in need. For years Margaret donated gallons of her own blood to the Red Cross and earned her badge of honor in service in her mission to help give strength to the weak and failing. She was a big fan of the Red Sox and looked forward to baseball season, never missing a game, she knew each player and her admiration for them were as if they were her own sons. She was very fond of her Irish heritage while cooking in the kitchen listening to Irish Celtic Folk music as she tapped her foot to the music twirling and jigging from side to side with a smile on her face. Lastly, Peg’s favorite color was green as it related to the luck o’ the Irish, and her favorite flower was the Carnation. Mom’s being, and personality reflected the meaning of this flower; Love – Fascination – Remembrance and Gratitude.

Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children, Alan Snyder, Denise Jones, Sandra Nolette, and Linda Goddard, and an impressive legacy of grandchildren: Christopher, Sherri, Alison, Christina, Alyssa, Matthew, Luke, Daniel, Mark, Adam, Brandon, Olivia, Brianna, Justin, Emil, Brittany, Miranda, Jared, Larissa, and Joshua; many great--grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Fitzpatrick, her beloved first husband Donald Snyder, and 2nd husband, Robert Conwell, her cherished children David Snyder, Dennis Snyder, and Cheryl Syriopoulous, and her siblings, John Fitzpatrick and Frances Kennedy.

Much like the symbol of the Hummingbird, which she adored and entertained outside her window often, Margaret's life was a testament to the power of resilience, the beauty of compassion, and the strength of love. Her legacy will continue to inspire, comfort, and guide all who were blessed to know her.
