Margaret Long Teague, 88, passed away October 11, 2024, at Caremoor Assisted Living in Kannapolis. A lifelong Charlottean, Margaret was born on May 26, 1936 and was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.
Margaret was first and foremost a Christian. She was an active member of University Hills Baptist Church where she lifted spirits with her voice in the senior adult choir until moving to assisted living. She was previously a founding member at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, and in earlier years worshipped at Newell and Hutchinson Baptist Churches. She was active in her church teaching young children in Sunday school and leading as VBS President. To the children, she was lovingly known as "Miss Margaret".
She spent 66 wonderful years married to her loving late husband Ray M. Teague. They enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with their church friends. She also enjoyed crafts, drawing, puzzles and entertaining friends and family. Margaret had immense love and pride for her family and was always there for anyone who needed help. Along with her brother, Ray and Margaret managed the family business, Long's Monument Company, dedicating their lives to helping grieving families throughout the Charlotte area.
Margaret's love extended to her entire family, including her son, Danny Teague and his wife Marilyn; her daughter, Cindy Massey and her husband Harold; her grandchildren, Stephanie Roten, Jordan (husband Chris) Kaufmann, David (wife Leah) Teague, and Taylor Massey; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lena, Connor, Katie, Claire and Delainey. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, grandson Carl, brother Raymond, and parents JC & Evelyn Long.
A visitation and funeral service will be held Thursday, October 17th at University Hills Baptist Church, 1500 Suther Dr, Charlotte, NC. The visitation will begin at 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm, followed by the service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Margaret can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Robertson Funeral Home in Charlotte, NC, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Margaret, affectionately my GREAT-aunt, was a fond person in my family tree, my entire life! She always welcomed me, my family, my children with a great big hug. Her smile also lite up every room! I tried my very best not to miss one family reunion so I wouldn't miss out on seeing her and my other TEAGUE family! I regretfully cannot make the service to honor her and see family. Please know my prayers for comfort, peace and only remembrance of sweetness for you all. Much love to each of you! Cheryl Teague (Harling), daughter of Charles (Jr) & Frances Teague
