Lancaster - Margaret "Toots" Hewitt, 84,died on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Margaret was born October 16, 1941 in Columbus, OH to the late Leo and Hazel (Mahaffy) Primmer. She retired from Ralston Purina after 18 years of service. A lover of the beach, Margaret and her late husband Keith cherished every opportunity to travel to Florida. She had a passion for cards, particularly bridge and euchre. Margaret also enjoyed bowling with friends. She lived a vibrant life, marked by her fun-loving spirit.
Margaret is survived by her son Keith Hewitt, Jr.; grandchild Nicollette Hewitt; great grandchildren Journey and Sawyer; grandchild Caitlin (Matt) Lamb; great grandchildren, Sebastian and Hudson; her daughter Kelley Richards; grandchild Jessica (Zack) Hettinger; great grandchildren Blaine and Ava; her son Kirk (Susan) Hewitt; grandchild Kelly (Brianna) Hewitt; great grandchildren Klaus, Kyras, and Kalea; grandchild Katie (Darren) Plessinger; great grandchildren Eli and Evelyn; grandchild Kortney (Joe) Eschbaugh; great grandchildren Nevaeh and Luke; sisters Peggy Pritchard and Kay Roark; brother-in-law Jesse Downhour; and special friend Jim Middaugh.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Keith Hewitt, Sr.; her parents; sister Mary Downhour; brother-in-law Carl Roark; mother-in-law Mary Margaret Hewitt; and many aunts.
Per Margaret’s request there will be no showing or service held. Caring Cremation® is taking place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice nurse Mika and Fairhope Hospice, as well as nurse Jessica Lawson.
