Margaret Jane Trusty (Kotulek), 79, of Wichita Falls, TX, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Margaret, known affectionately as Jane to many, lived a life full of joy, compassion, and resilience. She was born on December 4, 1945, in Seymour, TX, to the late William "Bill" and Lois Kotulek. Jane attended Seymour High School, graduating in 1964.
Jane's career included dedicated years at Russell Newman and Seymour Head Start before retiring to focus on her family life after marrying the love of her life, Danny Trusty, in December 2000. Known for her caring and loving nature, she found joy as a devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, TX. Her hobbies included dancing and fishing—activities that reflected her zest for life and love for the outdoors. Whether she was casting a line on a quiet morning or twirling across a dance floor, Jane embraced every moment with enthusiasm. She never met a stranger and was known for her infectious laughter and welcoming spirit. Her joy was contagious, and she had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Above all, Jane cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, whose legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her warmth and wisdom.
Jane is survived by her husband, Danny Trusty; her beloved Yorkie Tex; sister, Beverly Chandler; children, Keith Graves and his wife Summer, Kim Killian and her husband Chuckie, Kenny Graves and his wife Kelsy, Will King and his wife Sandy, and stepdaughter Jocine Hoogveldt. Sister In Law Sherry Lavasek and husband John. She was a cherished MeMaw to 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Viola Bales and her husband Raymond, Willie Mae and her husband Herman, and brother-in-law Eddie Chandler.
A family rosary will be held at 2:45 PM on Sunday, August 24, followed by a visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Archer Funeral Home in Seymour, TX. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, August 25, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Wichita Falls for the exceptional and loving care provided during Jane’s final days. Their compassion, support, and dedication brought comfort and peace to Jane and those who loved her most.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
