Margaret Sawyer Tucker

Margaret Sawyer Tucker lived 92 wonderful years. She was born in Shawboro, NC, on January 15, 1933, to the late Charles and Bertha Sawyer. She passed away at home on October 22, 2025. On November 28 of this year, she would have been married for 72 years to the love of her life, Wayne Tucker. She supported his career with many moves. After 10 years, she retired from her career with Duke Power.
Left behind to celebrate her life are her husband, Wayne; two daughters, Linda (Herman) Sikes and Lori (John) Council; two grandsons, Cameron (Kellie) and Keaton (Michaela Grissom); and her beautiful great-grandson, Tucker Hoyt Council that was a blessing to her. She is also survived by her 95-year-old brother, Victor Sawyer.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Reiver officiating. The family will greet family and friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in New Hollywood Cemetery.
