Margaret Mary (Hubbard) Weaver passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024 at Caroline Nursing and Rehab in Denton, Maryland. She had been a resident there for a number of years and was 89 years old.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 3, 1935, Margaret was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Tribull) Hubbard. She attended and graduated from Seton High School also in Baltimore. Following high school Margaret married the love of her life Herbert Melvin Weaver, Jr. on June 14, 1952. They made their home and raised their family on the Western Shore. During her professional life she worked as a bookkeeper. Margaret had a great love for horses from an early age. Later while working at an auction house, she and Herbert were so moved by the older or sickly horses that they bought them themselves and kept them on their farm.
Along with Margaret's love of animals she also loved music. She could play multiple instruments including the piano, harmonica, and the ukulele. She and Herbert enjoyed camping and would often come to the Eastern Shore to camp and this led to their moving to the Shore later in life. Margaret loved her family and was known as "the fun mother".
Margaret is survived by her daughter Linda Bollinger and her husband Dave; her sons Kenny Weaver and John Weaver and his wife Linda; her twelve grandchildren; and a number of great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Herbert who passed in 2002.
A visitation will be held at Framptom Funeral Home by the Coales, 216 N. Main Street, Federalsburg, Maryland on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 11:30am until 12:30pm. A brief funeral service will follow at 1pm at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
