Margie Cecilia Johnson-Collins

Margie Cecilia Johnson Collins, age 84, peacefully passed away on December 18,2023 surrounded by her only daughter and two of her grandkids in New Orleans, La. She was a graduate of Orleans Parish School system and a retired seamstress of Deansgate Sewing Factory in New Orleans. Margie was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Dorothy Alsina Johnson, two younger sisters: Melba T. Johnson Williams and Lillie A. Johnson McGee, and devoted longtime partner Donald (Duck) Bissant. She is survived by her children: Judy Turner Scipio, Robert Jr., Allen, Michael and Barry Turner. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends, Staff/Senior attendees of Harmony House Senior Center, and St. Bernard Housing Residents, are invited to attend the Christian Mass Burial, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, for 10:00 a.m. at St. Raymond & St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2916 Paris Ave. NOLA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Reverend Stanley K. Ihouma, officiating. Interment will be private.
