Marguerite R. "Peggy" Potter, age 94, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was born November 15, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Jerry and Jenny (Witvoet) Scripps. In 1954, Peggy married her husband Bill in Grand Rapids, where they began their family together.

Peggy's professional life was both varied and meaningful. She served as a schoolteacher and social worker, but her primary calling was as a Registered Nurse. She dedicated much of her career to rehabilitation, case management, and private duty nursing, always using her skills to care for others.

In addition to her career, Peggy was an airplane pilot and had a lifelong love of flying. She also enjoyed the water, especially Lake Michigan, where she and her family spent many joyful years boating and gathering with friends at the family cottage at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference. A woman of deep faith, Peggy attended Bible Study Fellowship, where she was actively involved for many years.

After retiring with Bill in 1997, the couple moved to the family cottage at Maranatha. Peggy was a faithful member of several churches throughout her life, including Berean Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Moody Memorial Church in Chicago, Calvary Undenominational Church in Grand Rapids, and Starkey Road Church in Florida. In more recent years she enjoyed attending Magnify Church in Rockford MI. Peggy delighted in being a part of Maranatha "Family" from the time she was a child, enjoying rich relationships across all generations of people within the Maranatha community.

SURVIVORS include two children, Jana Quinn and David (Colette) Potter; four grandchildren, Billy (Lauren) Potter, McKenzie Quinn, Renée Potter, Nikky Potter, and several close nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 2014; daughter, Lynette Potter; and siblings, James Scripps, Ky Scripps, Ruth Scripps, John Scripps and Gordon Scripps.

VISITATION with Peggy's family will be 5:30 - 7:30 PM Friday, October 3, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100.
