Maria Francis Carson

Maria Francis Carson, 56, of Whiteland, IN, passed away on March 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love. Born on June 12, 1968, in Greenwood, IN, Maria built a life devoted to caring-for her patients, her loved ones, and the many animals she welcomed into her home.
Maria and her husband, Tony Carson, shared over 28 years of love, building their dreams together and dedicating themselves to hard work and the life they created side by side.
A highly skilled and respected medical professional, Maria earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees before becoming a Physician Assistant. She began her career as a radiologic technologist before expanding her expertise in ultrasound & performing CT's. Known not only for her precision and technical skill but also for the trust and comfort she provided to those in her care, Maria set high standards for herself and those around her. She co-owned 2 X-ray businesses with 2 of her closest friends and was a strong advocate for women entrepreneurs, always encouraging others to pursue their ambitions.
Alongside Tony, Maria also fulfilled another dream-owning and operating Antonio's and Maria's Pizza, a shop inspired by her grandmother's cherished recipes. A gifted cook, she found joy in bringing people together over good food, creating a space where tradition and community thrived. Just as they built their dream home, they poured love and hard work into the shop, making it a meaningful chapter in their journey together.
Maria had an incredible attention to detail, whether in her work, her businesses, or everyday life. She had a talent for finding the best deals-couponing with a skill that amazed those around her-and a deep love for animals. She adored all of her cats, both past and present: Lucky, Mario, KoKo, Mickey, Markie, Melanie, Mara, and Maddie.
Maria's kindness, thoughtfulness, and dedication will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the form of plants, honoring Maria's love for her flower garden. Tony wishes to continue adding to her collection, creating a living tribute to the beauty she nurtured in the world.
