Maria Anna (Fragale) Fazio
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Monday April 29th, 2024 at Lahey Hospital Clinic & Medical Center at the age of 90.
Born on February 17, 1934 in Calabria, Italy; daughter of the late Paolo Fragale and Rosina (Godino) Fragale.
Maria was raised in Calabria, immigrating to the United States from Italy with her family in 1962 settling in New York. She later moved to
Waltham, Massachusetts where she has resided since 1974. Although she was very proud of her heritage and culture, she defended how great the USA was to anyone who said otherwise. She appreciated what America afforded her and her family and never took it for granted.
She was a dedicated and hardworking woman of her time; over the years she had been employed as a Factory Worker with Nova Biomedical and Unitrode. Although she worked, Maria devoted her life to caring and providing for her family. She loved cooking, baking, and sewing. One of her greatest gifts was her salvation in Jesus Christ along with her strong and unyielding faith in God, our creator. She was an evangelist at heart, wherever she went (supermarket, park, anywhere), she took the opportunity to speak with others and always share who Jesus Christ is and what he did for her and all of mankind. She made it her mission to make sure people knew that there was hope in Jesus.
Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband the late Giuseppe Fazio in 2002, and loving sons the late Antonio Fazio in 1999 and Carmelo Fazio in 2023. She is also predeceased by her brother Edoardo Fragale in 2015.
She is survived by her devoted & loving daughter Giovanna Abeiga and son-in-law Ricardo Abeiga, her daughter-in-law Deborah Fazio; her cherished grandchildren, Elana, Gregory, Marco, and Davin Fazio, Vittoria, Isabella, Ricardo and Matteo Abeiga, and Joseph, Anthony & Angela Fazio, and her dear sister Teresa Arcuri and brother the late Edoardo Fragale. In addition, she is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
