Francine S. "Cine" (Yorston) Marini
Of Newton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in her home after a period of declining health, at the age of 75.
Born on November 27, 1949, in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late William W. Yorston Jr. and Angelina (Scichilone) Yorston.
A graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham, Francine worked for a time with Daly Construction in Brighton before beginning a long and rewarding career as a Financial Officer in the Development Office at Brandeis University in Waltham. Her professionalism and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues throughout the years.
Family was always first and foremost in Cine's life. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren, hosting gatherings, and sharing laughter and conversation. Known for her warm personality and generous spirit, Cine was the heart of every get-together.
Her passions included photography, music, and attending concerts-interests that reflected her vibrant and creative spirit.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Rocco D. Marini Jr. and her dear brother William "Billy" Yorston III.
Francine is survived by her devoted and loving children, Rocco D. Marini III (NPD) and his wife Christine, Alycia T. Rohanna Marini; and Michael W. Marini (NFD) and his wife Kelly. She was the cherished grandmother of Rocco, Mary, Ella, Rheya, Desmond, James, Matthew, and Emily. In addition, she leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Those who wish to pay their respects to Francine and her family can do so in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on SUNDAY October 26th from 2pm until 5pm. A celebration of her life to remember the love & friendship she shared with so many others in her lifetime will be held at 4:30pm. The family encourages those attending to wear the color purple, Francine's favorite color.
