Maria was born on March 3, 1968, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Antonio Sanchez and Maria del Refugio Tarango. On June 30, 1989, she married the love of her life, Omar Oscar Huizar Sr., in Lawton, Oklahoma. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to commitment, friendship, and enduring love. Together they built a home filled with laughter, faith, and family-cherishing every moment they shared, especially dancing together, one of Maria's greatest joys.
Maria had a heart overflowing with love. Her home was a haven of warmth, hospitality, and faith. She found joy in cooking for her family, watching true crime shows, and reading her Bible. Her love for life was evident in everything she did, and her presence brought light and comfort to all who knew her.
Perhaps nothing brought Maria more joy than cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She was always the loudest voice in the crowd-clapping, yelling, and celebrating every moment with infectious enthusiasm. Her pride in her family was boundless.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Maria; and by her siblings Juan Abraham, Marco Antonio, Ignacio Antonio, Alejandro, Ernesto Antonio, and Ofelia.
Maria is survived by her siblings: Maria Estela, Rosario De Fatima, Ricardo Ernesto, Rosa Emeralda, Claudia Rubi, Raul Dario, Maria Luisa, Consuelo, Guadalupe, Carmen, and Eduardo. She also leaves behind more than 30 nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved deeply and uniquely and a close friend Albaro Lopez.
Maria's love was her legacy. She poured her heart into her family, never hesitating to give all of herself to those she loved. She is also survived by her children-Omar Oscar Huizar Jr. of Duncan, Jose Angel Huizar and his wife Hope of El Reno, Eric Josh Huizar and his wife Whitney of Duncan, Miriam Yaricssa Huizar and her fiancé Mike Skelton of Duncan, Sarai Lissette Huizar-Greening and her husband Tanner of Duncan, and Annai Lizbeth Huizar of Oklahoma City-were the joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Caleb, Lucas, Ely, Mia, Daniel Alexander, Giovanni, Andreya, Creed, Marcus, Julian, Landyn, Tristen, Gabrielle, Kynsler, and Brielle; and great-grandmother to precious Ezrah.
Maria's life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, and family. Her kindness, strength, and joy will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for generations.
Majority of those who knew Maria knew her simply as Mita. So with full hearts and tearful smiles, we say: We love you, Mita. We will see you again someday.
