Maria de Jesus Garcia-Alcocer, 27, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Combined services for Maria and her aunt Ana will take place on Monday, September 18 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish: St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. They will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. Friends and family are also invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, September 17 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 P.M. Born Maria de Jesus Garcia-Ramirez on October 13, 1995 in Puruándiro, Michoacán, Mexico, she was the daughter of Jesus Garcia-Torres and Rosibel Ramirez-Avalos. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 2014. Maria worked at Advanced Services in Des Moines as a recruiter. In her free time, she loved music, dancing and spending time with her siblings and her aunts. Family was everything to her.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Jesus and Rosibel; her siblings: Estefania (Dedric) Garcia, Yony Garcia, Angel Ramirez and Arisbeth Villanueva; her nephew Amir; her grandparents, Ramiro Ramirez and Virginia Avalos and Angela Torres; Her aunts and uncles: Maria De La Luz (Rigoberto) Ramirez-Avalos, Raul (Yessica) Ramirez-Avalos, Jose Manuel (Rachel) Ramirez-Avalos, Rosibel (Cesar) Ramirez-Avalos, Gerardo (Sonia) Ramirez-Avalos, Maria Guadalupe (Jose) Ramirez-Avalos, Elizabeth (Ruben) Ramirez-Avalos, Jose Garcia, Soledad Garcia, Enedina (Luis) Garcia, Ruben (Cecilia) Garcia, Alfredo (Clara) Garcia and Luis Garcia; her Godchildren: Isabel Castro, Emiliano Landeros and Adelyn Amaya; and numerous cousins and friends.
Maria entered into eternal life with her aunt Ana Isabel Ramirez-Avalos and they rejoined Maria's grandfather Jesus Garcia-Mosqueda.
