Maria was born January 4, 1963, in Alto Lucero, Veracruz, Mexico, the daughter of Alvaro Moctezuma and Martina Castillo. On February 13, 1982, she married Genaro Sandoval.
Survivors include her children, Ana Sandoval, Sergio Sandoval, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Isaac Diaz, Sophia Sandoval; father, Alvaro Moctezuma; siblings, Juana Moctezuma, Ricardo Moctezuma, Maura Moctezuma, Javier Moctezuma, all of Mexico; special nephews, Roberto Moctezuma, Edgar Franco, both of Columbus; several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martina Castillo, husband, Genaro and brother, Miguel Moctezuma.
In keeping with the family' s request, cremation will take place and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Chris Wadelton officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
