I knew Maria from when I was about 8 years old, and she and my Aunt Gloria were best high school friends. I saw Maria as beautiful and sophisticated and graceful, and I wanted to be just like her. I had not seen her in dozens of years, but know from Gloria that she had wonderful family and friends throughout her life. Condolences to all she left behind, and may we all remember how she gave us so much just in knowing her.

Maria was one of the first neighbors I met on Olmsted Drive. A friendly face from South Philly, we connected immediately. We got together often, a nice dinner, a cup of coffee, even a fun trip to Italy. I enjoyed hearing about her family. Dana and Nicole, she was so proud of you and adored the grandchildren you gave her. Donald, she said you were the love of her life. Thanks for sharing Maria with me. I will miss her.

Maria was one of the first neighbors I met when I moved to Holly Grove. Two girls from South Philly, we hit it off immediately. We would meet for coffee, dinners, even a fun trip to Italy. Even when she moved back to Pennsylvania, she always called and made sure we stayed in touch. I could not have asked for a better friend. I will miss her so very much.

Donald, Dana, Nicole, Frankie, Marie - My deepest sympathy to all. Maria was one of my best friends and what a wonderful friend she was. We had great times together, we shared much laugher and many tears. In sixty three years of our friendship we never argued, in fact we spoke almost every day of our lives. The first day Roberta and I met Maria was the first day of our new School Vare Jr. High. Maria entered the classroom looking so scared as we all were starting a new school, when Roberta and I saw her we called her over to sit with us and that was the beginning of a lifetime of friendship that lasted all these years. As I write this with tears in my eyes remembering all that we shared, the dances, proms, clubs, and vacations. Oh we had so much fun! The girls and I thank GOD that we were all able to enjoy our once a month lunches and dinners for the past ten years. Maria I love you with all my heart and will never forget you. I only wish I had a chance to hug you just one more time, but I know in my heart the LORD is in charge and he also wanted you. Until we meet again my DEAR FRIEND rest in peace. My love to everyone - Gloria

Bob and I send our deepest sympathy to the family of Maria, her children and grandchildren. Her passing is a surprise to us. We know how much she will be missed.
Many years ago, when we were young and foolish, Bob and I spent a lot of time with Maria. We laughed and partied enjoyed many fun times together. I am so happy to have those memories come back again as I write this message. No one I know could express herself better without uttering a word. She had such an expressive face. So special.
We send our love and sympathy to you. Rest in Peace. She left her mark and will be missed.
