Maria "Yaya" E. Perez

Maria "Yaya" E. Perez 67, of Chicago, passed away on July 14, 2022. Beloved companion of the late Guadelupe "Lou" Hernandez; devoted daughter of the late Moises Perez and Carmen Galvan (Emilio Galvan); loving mother of Michael Perez (Elizabeth Reliford), Roxanne Rodriguez, and Christopher Tomecek (Victor Resa); cherished grandmother of Galarena, Sugely, Joey, Zyanya, and Brandon Jr.; dearest sister of Moses (DeeDee) Perez, Joe (Linda) Perez, Maria Luz "Lulu' Perez, Cindy Perez, and Aracely Galvan; also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maria worked for the CPS as a proud Lunchroom Attendant for 23 years. She loved cooking, dancing, and enjoyed attending a "Good Party!" She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Betty Boop, hearts and her favorite color was purple. She had a great sense of humor, strong personality, and her heart was filled with love and kindness. She will always be remembered and never forgotten. Visitation will be held at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, chapel prayers at 8 a.m. to Our Lady of Snows Parish, 4810 S. Leamington Ave., Chicago for a, 9 a.,m. Mass of Christian Burial. Cremation following in accordance with her wishes.
