In Loving Memory of Maria Iluminada Diaz Quiles

Ada was born on April 30, 1927, in Lares, Puerto Rico, to her beloved parents Juan Díaz and Fidela González. She married Pedro Quiles in June of 1951, and together they built a strong and loving family rooted in faith and devotion. They were blessed with ten wonderful children - two born in Puerto Rico and eight in New York.

Ada, along with her devoted siblings, lovingly cared for their mother for many years - a true reflection of the compassion and selflessness that defined her life. She did so with grace, patience, and unwavering love, never with regret, but with gratitude for the opportunity to honor and serve the woman who had given her so much.

Ada was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her faith in God guided her every step and shaped the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She practiced a true and intimate relationship with the Lord and shared this precious faith with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Her love for God was not only spoken but lived - in her kindness, her patience, and her boundless capacity to love.Ada loved her family deeply. She enjoyed preparing home-cooked meals, gathering loved ones around her table, and making sure everyone felt welcome. She was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing stories, laughter, and faith. She loved crocheting and reading, and some of her favorite shows included Lucha Libre, Sábado Gigante, The Three Stooges, and Caso Cerrado. She also loved singing along to her cherished Pentecostal hymns and found joy in the simple, peaceful moments that made life beautiful.

Ada was loved dearly not only by her own family but also by her husband's family, with whom she shared a special and enduring bond. Her kindness and warmth reached far and wide, touching countless hearts.

She is survived by her loving children: Miriam, Janet, Ruthy, Rosalie, Elizabeth, Esach, Peter, and Aida; her dear sister Carmen Díaz de Rodríguez; 20 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 19 great-grandsons, 18 great-granddaughters, and 1 great-great-grandson - all of whom carry her legacy of love, laughter, and faith within their hearts.She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her sons David and Jacob, and her siblings José Díaz, Juan Díaz, María Díaz de Soto, Ana Díaz de Valentín, Félix Díaz, Antonio Díaz, and Alejandrina Jiménez.

Ada lived her life as a true woman of God. She exemplified faith, humility, and strength, teaching those around her to trust in the Lord and to walk in love. Her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and steadfast devotion will continue to inspire everyone blessed to have known her.While she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior - reunited with loved ones and resting in eternal peace. Her light continues to shine through all who loved her, and her memory will forever be a guiding star in our lives.
