Marian A. Warosh, 82, of Edgar, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Waterford of Colby under the care of Heartland Hospice. Born in Edgar on June 29, 1943 to the late, Anthony and Marcella (Hall) Thurs, she attended St. John's Parochial School and graduated from Edgar High School.
On January 25, 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Warosh at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. Marian was a dedicated wife and mother, caring for her children while her husband was away at sea during his United States Naval career.
Marian was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar.
After traveling the world supporting her husband Jim's military career, the family settled back in Edgar. Marian, better known as Mamie, worked many hot and humid summers in her brother and brother-in-law Ginseng gardens. Marian opted for a new work challenge when she was hired into the Fisckar Scissors packaging department for over 20 years. Mamie was exceptionally skilled in needlepoint and sewing, creating beautiful and perfect pieces down to the stitch. Decorating for the holidays and especially Christmas trees made her heart shine through. She enjoyed working in the garden and canning the fruits of her labor. She was an avid fan of polka music and enjoyed polka dancing with her dance partner, Jim. With the challenging life of the military, raising a family and working, Mamie still enjoyed traveling the world with Jim and extended family with many cruises around the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and to Europe. To her family, Marian was lovely remembered as the Mom that loved amusement rides, watching and attending NASCAR races, that had an extensive collection of boots and shoes. On a personal note, Marian enjoyed praying the Rosary and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loving husband, James Warosh; her sons, Craig Warosh of Loyal, Paul (Angela) Warosh of Plymouth, MN, and Michael (Kolleen) Warosh of Milton; her grandchildren, Jordyn, Taylor, and Hannah; her sister, Alvina Joswiak of Edgar and brother, Wally (Judy) Thurs of Edgar, brother-in-law, Roger Rasmussen as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Anthony and Marcella Thurs; sisters, Luella (Gerald) Straub and Jeanie Rasmussen; brother, Anthony (Janice) Thurs; and brother-in-law, Ray Joswiak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar with Rev. Alan Wierzba officiating. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday for a time of visitation from 1 PM until time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to: Craig Warosh, Paul Warosh, Michael Warosh, Jordyn Warosh, Taylor Warosh, and Hannah Warosh.
If desired, memorials in Marian's name can be directed to the "Walk to End Alzheimer's Association" in Marshfield.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff at Waterford of Colby for the wonderful care they provided to Marian during her stay.
