In Loving Memory of Marianna (Calzante) LombardoIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marianna Lombardo, age 86 of Elmhurst, IL, surrounded by her family. A beloved sister, wife, mother, aunt and nonna, who left us on February 10, 2025. Marianna, born on March 18, 1938, in Alta Villa Milicia, Sicily. Marianna was a woman of strength, known for her loving nature. Marianna faced the loss of her beloved husband, Giuseppe, in November 2006. Despite the profound grief that followed, and her mounting disabilities, she continued to be a pillar of strength for her family, demonstrating resilience in the face of adversity. Mariannas journey was marked by the pain of saying goodbye to her son Vincent in May 2016 whose memories she held close to her heart. As a dedicated mother, she raised three children Vincent, Angela (Thomas Harder) and James (Nicole) Lombardo with love, patience, and an enduring sense of responsibility. Her commitment to their well-being was a testament to the selflessness that defined her character. Mariannas role as a nonna brought her immense joy, and she cherished the precious moments spent with her grandchildren, Angelina (Jake Heyman), Frank, Gia (Eli Mendoza) and Vincenzo Lombardo, Jerry Harder, Joey and Sophia Lombardo, and great nonna to Giuliana.Mariannas warm smile could light up any room, and her generosity knew no bounds, particularly in her love for cooking and creating a haven where love and laughter echoed in every corner. Family meant everything to Marianna and her devotion to her loved ones was unwavering. With nine siblings and many nieces and nephews, she embraced all with grace and kindness throughout her life. Marianna will be remembered not only for her nurturing spirit but also for her sense of humor. She was the force that held her family together, always there for each member - offering love, support, and a shoulder to lean on.As we mourn the loss of Marianna, let us celebrate her life and legacy. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and may we find solace in the cherished moments we shared with this remarkable woman.Funeral mass will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 442 N West Ave Elmhurst, IL 60126.May she rest in eternal peace.
