Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium - NashuaMarianna C. Rosato (Walsh), aged 70, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at her home in Langdon Place of Nashua, NH, after her courageous battle with lung disease.
Marianna was born August 12, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY, to loving parents William Walsh and Mary Walsh (Morris). At age five, her family moved to Edgemere, NY, where she went to St. Mary Star of the Sea Elementary School and attended St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church. At age fourteen, the family moved to Valley Stream, NY, where she would attend Valley Stream South H.S. These early years were filled with the family, cousins, and friends that would shape the rest of her life. Upon graduation, she went on to attend Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY, where she excelled in academics and developed more lifelong friendships.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Marianna worked for five years as the Assistant to the Director of the City Stores Company in New York City. She married Mark Rosato, and together they opened businesses; Top Shelf Pub in Nyack, NY and Lauderdale’s in Nanuet, NY. Her brothers Dennis and Billy worked alongside her in both of these endeavors. She raised her children in New City, before relocating to Nashua, NH in 2005. It was here in NH that she began a 19 year long career as a Business Officer Administer (BOA) at Edward Jones. While in this role, she earned one of the highest honors, The Spirit of Caring Award, recognized by her co-workers as a person who exemplifies the values, culture and spirit of giving back. Truly her passion shone through in her work alongside trusted colleagues like Norm Tremblay, Ken Hang, and Nicholas Shepard. Marianna and Nick partnered since 2009 and they became trusted and loyal friends. Together they built one of the top Edward Jones offices within New England.
Marianna’s quick wit and dry sense of humor enamored her to everyone she met in a matter of minutes. Her smile and laughter would light up any room! As many friends in NY and NH can attest, she was often referred to as “the mayor” because of her ability to make friends and spread kindness to all. Marianna selflessly and lovingly devoted herself to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed travel and adventures with them to such places as Florida. Aruba, and Nevada. She enjoyed watching movies, playing cards and games with her family and a good meal with friends, but she always said her very favorite activity of all was to spend time with her beloved grandchildren.
Her childhood was filled with fond memories of sleepovers with favorite cousins, and many family gatherings where the love and laughter of the Irish was always present. Into adulthood, she enjoyed the annual Morris Family Reunion, outings and trips with the Marymount College friends and Rockland, NY friends. Her friendships grew further when she re-established her life here in NH. It didn’t matter where she lived, it only mattered that she was greatly loved.
Marianna is survived by her daughter, Julianne Rosato of Sarasota, FL; son, Mark Rosato and his wife Ance Rosato of Sarasota, FL; her two grandchildren, Emma and Jaxen; brother, Richard Walsh of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Joseph Walsh and his wife Susanne Walsh of Greenlawn, NY; sister, Noreen Dutile and her husband Donald Dutile of Merrimack, NH; sister-in-law, Karin Walsh (Westervelt) of Winnabow, NC; 12 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; and aunt and uncles: Grace and Frank Morris, Brother Roman Morris, and William Morris. Marianna also had a large number of cousins and godchildren whom she loved very much.
Marianna is preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Walsh; brothers William “Billy” Walsh of Nyack, NY; and Dennis Walsh of Leland, NC; godparents Joseph and Betty Krist; and 15 dearly loved aunts and uncles. There was a celebration in heaven on October 20th when they were all there to welcome her home.
The family would like to thank the Langdon staff and Brookhaven Hospice staff for their devoted care of Marianna. Their love, compassion, and friendships brought Marianna more joy than sadness. To the friends she made there, you lifted her up, and she loved you back.
