Maribeth Primrose

Maribeth Primrose, 63, of Yakima, peacefully passed away on December 1st, 2025, at home, surrounded by her beloved husband, daughter, and son-in-law. Mari fought cancer with remarkable courage for four years. Mari worked various jobs, including St. Joe's Bingo Hall, where she met the love of her life, Kevin Primrose. Mari found her passion in teaching as a paraprofessional for the past 20 years at Terrace Heights Elementary School. She adored her students and coworkers. Sadly, her health led to her early retirement in 2021.
Kevin and Mari were married on March 25th, 1995, marking 30 years of true love. They have one daughter, Alyssa, and they gained a wonderful son-in-law, Michael, just days after Mari came home on hospice. Mari was so happy to be part of their wedding.
Mari is preceded in death by her father, Joe Owen Sr., mother, Jeanette Owen, sister, Zona Martin, stepfather, Tom Ogard, her grandparents, Eugene and Mary Owen, Elmer and Beth Hamblen.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Primrose of Yakima; daughter, Alyssa Owen (Michael) of Yakima; brothers, Arthur Owen (Phyllis) of Richland, and Joe Owen Jr. (Marilyn) of Holden, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 from 11am-1pm with a Funeral Service to follow at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home. Reception to follow service at Spirit Alive Wesleyan Church in Yakima, Washington (3601 Mountainview Ave).
