Marie S. Bertrand

Marie S. Bertrand was a caring wife, a mother and a lifelong resident of Port-Au-Prince and Boston died unexpectedly on March 14, 2022 at the age of 79 after being admitted to the hospital due to an emergency. She is survived by her husband Joseph Bertrand. Marie was the loving mother of Monique Bertrand-Berret and her husband Pierre of Hyde Park, Nancy Delmas and her husband Steven of Springfield, Gary Bertrand and his wife Winnie of Raynham, Etheart Bertrand and his wife Naomi of Randolph, Sadrack Bertrand of Brockton and his family, Joseph Bertrand Jr. Brockton. Proud "Grandma" of 13.
Marie was born on February 08, 1943 in Cabaret, a communal town of Haiti. After she graduated from High School in the year 1957, she attended a vocational school. She married her beloved sweetheart Joseph Bertrand in 1964. The two lived and raised their children in Port Au Prince till about 1999 before they moved here to Boston. While living in Haiti and raising her children, she was also a nurse at a local health care center in Haiti, and while here in Boston she works at the Boston Public School.
Marie was a devoted homemaker, She loved being with her grandchildren and was head chef of the "Bertrand Family". She loved sewing, traveling, cooking, and outside of her home she could be found at church. She was a woman of great faith and sometimes volunteered her time and skill in the service of others. She was always a hard worker. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the Chapman Funerals and Cremations located at the following address: 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, MA 02324. A Visitation period will begin at 10 AM, and service will start at 10:30 AM.
