Marie B. Clemente

Marie Clemente, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by love.

Marie had a lifelong passion for music. She was a longtime member of the Church of St. Clare Choir and also participated in a senior choral group sponsored by the Staten Island Musical Chairs Ensemble, as well as a senior ukulele group at the Jewish Community Center. Music brought her endless joy, and she often said, "Music is like a candy store - you can never get enough flavors." Marie played the accordion, organ, piano, and ukulele.

At the College of Staten Island, Marie enjoyed taking piano classes, where her favorite piece was "Für Elise." She also worked at the College of Staten Island as a College Assistant in the Vice President's office.

Prior to her work at the College, Marie was an executive legal secretary with the Supreme Court of Richmond County, Security Title, and the law firm of Lahr, Dillon & Manzulli.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved son, Joseph; her mother, Amelia Valenti; and her siblings, Gregory Cavallo, Johnnie Cavallo, Vera Cerullo, and Josephine Rhoads. She was also predeceased by her devoted husband of 60 years, Frank Clemente, who passed away in January 2016. Their love was truly special, and they shared the simple but meaningful habit of telling each other "I love you" multiple times each day.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Marie Ottavia Clemente and Amelia "Amy" Ahne-Blume (husband Ivan); her grandchildren, Matthew Ahne (wife Morgan), Andrew Ahne (wife Sarah), and Marc Ahne (wife Ashley); her step-granddaughter, Holly Coreneto (husband Dan); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Maggie, Lucas, and Aiden.

Marie will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.

A Funeral Mass will be at 9:45 AM on Monday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308.

Interment will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
