Marie May Cook (Holland), born on December 2, 1935, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2025 at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late Eugene Cook for 41 years. Marie was born in South Kingstown to the late Ethel and John Holland.
Marie was a homemaker. She loved her family, friends, and playing bingo.
She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Gray Gardiner (David), Donna Gray Smith (Brad), Kathleen Cook (Jay), six grandchildren Aimee Gardiner, Audra Gardiner, Chet Smith (Kristin), Lia Smith, Daniel Cook, Emily Cook, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Marie was predeceased by her siblings, Lorraine Lowell, John and Earl Holland, and her late grandchildren David Gardiner Jr. and Margaret "Maggie" Smith.
The family was blessed to have her grandson Daniel taking such wonderful care of Marie during the last three years, which allowed her to stay home among loved ones.
Marie's visitation will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 9:30-10:30 AM with a funeral home service to follow at 10:30AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will follow at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
