Louis Melillo beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in his home on August 11, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born on May 8, 1943, in Providence Rhode Island, Lou was a man whose life was marked with kindness, integrity, and an unwavering dedication to his family and to helping others. The son of the late Elvera and Louis Melillo he attended Providence College, where he earned a degree and formed lifelong friendships.

For many years he served as a Rehabilitation Supervisor for the Blind, a role in which his patience, compassion, and belief in dignity of every individual touched countless lives. After a long career, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of service and inspiration.

Lou was the loving husband of 58 years to Kathryn Melillo and proud father of son Mark Melillo, daughter-in-law Jeanne Melillo, and daughter MaryElizabeth (Beth) Melillo.

In addition, he is survived by grandchildren Michael Melillo, Christopher Melillo, Luke Melillo, and Nicholas Melillo.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 4-7pm in Avery Storti funeral home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 10 am in St. Veronica Chapel,1035 Boston Neck Road Narragansett, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Elks Home Maintenance and Repair Assistance Program South Kingstown Elks Lodge, 60 Belmont Ave. Wakefield, RI 02879.
