Marie Lucile was born on May 26, 1954, in Saint-Louis du Nord, Haiti to the late Francillon Francois and Lucienne Francois. Marie was the youngest of five. As a child, she enjoyed the special privilege of experiencing the warmth and care of a close-knit family, particularly her strong bond with her father, whose unconditional love shaped and strengthened her throughout her life. She carried the love and lessons from her father into every relationship, most profoundly with her only surviving child, Marcia Saintubert.
Marie's love for family and food was well-known, and her joy in life was contagious. Her selflessness and unwavering willingness to help others touched the lives of all who knew her.
Through the grace of God, Marie's faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Even in the face of illness and hardship, Marie never wavered in her trust in God's sovereignty, often referring to Jesus as her "best friend". She found comfort and strength in prayer, keeping God at the center of her life. Despite many health challenges, she fought valiantly through each trial and was sustained by her deep relationship with God. Her life was a testament to His faithfulness and his unshakable love.
Marie entered into eternal rest on November 11, 2024, having fought the good fight of faith, knowing that death has lost its sting. As 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 declares: "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved father: Francillon Francois, her mother: Lucienne Francois, and her sister: Francillone Francois. She leaves to cherish her memory Marc Saint-Hubert; her daughter: Marcia Saintubert; her brothers: Fritz Francois (Yolette Francois) and Hans Raymond Francois (Yverose Francois); her sister: Charitable Jean; nieces and nephews: Sabine Barlatier, Chrislene Francois, Melinda Francois, Tova Francois, Ascer Barlatier, Malerbe Francois, Jovaney Francois, and Yves-Hans Francois; cousins Julien Jean, Ymmacela Jean, and a host of cousins, extended family and friends who were blessed to know her.
Marie's legacy of love, faith, and strength will continue to inspire and comfort all who were touched by her life. She fought the good fight and now is resting while she waits for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To God be the glory for her life and salvation!
