Marie Nardone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph F Nardone Funeral Home - Peekskill on Apr. 6, 2023.
Obituary of Marie Nardone
Marie (Swansen) Nardone, 67, passed away suddenly at her home in Beaufort, South Carolina, on February 26, 2023.
Marie graduated from Peekskill High School in 1973. She then attended Mercy College, where she majored in Psychology and continued to complete her Master's Degree in Education from the College of New Rochelle.
Marie always had a special place in her heart for children, animals, and nature. She had a long teaching career with the City of Peekskill, where she taught special education at the elementary level for 30-plus years. Throughout retirement, Marie continued her joy of teaching through tutoring. She often visited her great-nieces and nephews to share her love of reading and learning with them! Her kind heart and patience also extended to animals. Over the years, she fostered many groups of puppies and spent her time volunteering at the animal shelter. She also loved being outside, exploring nature, tending to her garden, and picking fresh fruit to make jam.
Marie had recently relocated to South Carolina, where she would enjoy the warmer weather. She spent most of her days there exploring the beaches, marshlands, fish markets, and the local library.
Marie is survived by her two loving children, Brianna Nardone and Vincent A. Nardone. She also leaves behind her nine siblings, Ralph Swansen (Barbara), Barbara McConnell (Robert), Patricia Vesce (Vincent), Kathleen Schmitt (Richard), Albert Swansen (Lynn), Peter Swansen (Arlene), Paul Swansen (Marybeth), Michael Swansen (Denise), and Joanne Anderson (Sam), along with many nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by her ex-husband, Vincent G. Nardone along with her parents, Ralph and Marie Swansen.
Marie was laid to rest at a private service, surrounded by her family, in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
