Obituary of Trudy Nardone
With love, gratitude and sorrow, the family of Trudy Nardone announces her peaceful passing on October 9, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born in Manhattan, NY, on September 2, 1936, to Erich and Maria (Bierbaum) Young, she lived her first 4 years in Astoria, Queens, before the family settled in Putnam Valley, NY. She graduated from Peekskill High School. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper.
On February 25, 1962, she married the love of her life, Michael Nardone Jr. of Peekskill, NY at the Assumption Church in Peekskill. Mike and "Trut" would purchase their dream home on Hoover Avenue in Peekskill in 1964 where they raised their 3 children; Laura, Jamie and Michael. They were married for 54 years until her husband's passing in 2016.
Trudy was a loving mother and the consummate homemaker who always went above and beyond in everything she did. She had a passion for gardening which showed in her meticulously landscaped yard and abundant vegetable garden. Because she shared her beautiful perennials, so many family and friends will forever remember her with the blooms of each season. She was a skilled knitter/crocheter which is evident by many beautiful blankets and potholders that adorn the homes of her family and friends. Trudy and Mike dedicated themselves to renovating their Dutch colonial into a welcoming home to all who entered, where they would entertain family gatherings throughout their life together. She always supported and cheered on her husband (Ossining High School Football and Wrestling Coach) and children throughout all their school sporting events. After Mike's retirement, they were fortunate to travel to various locations in the US and Europe with family and friends. She loved and cherished whenever her kids and grandchildren were together.
Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, and is survived by her daughters Laura (Keith) Palmer, Jamie (Joseph) Gullo, her son Michael (Caroline)Nardone and her 6 grandchildren; Ryan, Michaela, Matthew, Julia, Joanna and Anthony and her 5 great grandchildren; Michael, Patrick, Carmella, Jonathan and Elena. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marie Anstett and her husband Steve along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1377 E Main St, Shrub Oak, NY 10588, on November 8, 2025, at 10:00 am
Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY.

Trudy was loved by my Kasper (my irish red & white setter). He would see her outside and pull me across the street to get a hug and then lay on her feet as we chatted. She is missed very much. I am so blessed to have been her neighbor.
