MARIE T. SCHUTTE, age 86, of Menomonie, WI, formerly of Withee, WI, peacefully passed away at American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, on Monday, August 25, 2025 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood, WI. Pastor Bob Koepp will officiate, and burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Willard, WI. Marie Therese Collier was born on September 10, 1938 in La Crosse, WI, to Milton L. and Anne M. (Routar) Collier. She was raised on a farm in rural Clark County, WI and received her education in area schools. After completing school, Marie was united in marriage to Marvin C. Schutte on June 6, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood, WI. They resided in Neillsville, WI before moving to Algonquin, IL, where they lived until moving to Baldwin, WI in 1972. Marie attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in the late 1970's and completed the C.N.A. course, and then worked at the nursing home in Woodville, WI and Spring Valley, WI. After retiring, they moved to Withee, where they resided until Marvin's death on September 1, 2020. Marie remained in Withee until moving to Menomonie in August 2022.
Marie was an upbeat and joyful person who had something nice to say about everyone. She was a fantastic mother who loved being with her family. Her pride and joy were her children, and she never hung up the phone without saying, "Love you forever."
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, loved the Lord, Jesus, and was strong in her faith. Marie also loved her music, and enjoyed playing harmonica, accordion and tambourine.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Therese Schutte of Menomonie, WI, Patrick (Wendy) of Brooklyn Park, MN, Norman (fiancé Denise Larson) of New Richmond, WI, Steve (Sheri) of Menomonie, WI; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; and one son, John, on August 23, 2016.
All expressions of sympathy for the family are welcomed, including flowers, cards, memorials, or donations to the Clark County Humane Society.
