Marie Shepherd, 86, of the Atlanta community in Emerson, AR passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at The Springs of Magnolia in Magnolia, AR.
Born September 4, 1939, in Sikes, LA (Winn Parish) to the late Huey James and Virgie May (Taylor) Sullivan. Marie worked for Weyerhaeuser and S&S Home Center.
Marie was the longest living member of the Hilltop Baptist Church. She was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clovis Mack "Coconut" Shepherd; great granddaughter, Winnie Kate Jones; sisters, Floy Fay Ray and Mary Dolores Dooly; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Shepherd.
Marie is survived by her son Ricky Shepherd and wife Linda of Emerson; daughter, Deborah Dooly and husband Pat of Emerson; grandchildren, James "Jimbo" Pierce and wife Karen of Magnolia, Mark Dooly and wife Angela of West Fork, Travis Pierce and wife Patti of Dallas, TX, Adam Shepherd and wife Teresa of Atlanta, Steve Dooly and wife Jennifer of Atlanta, Shawn Dooly and wife Amber of Atlanta, Dusty Shepherd and wife Stephanie of Hot Springs, Jennifer Johnson and husband Randy of Homer, LA, Patricia Jones and husband Kyle of Magnolia, and Misty May and husband Janson of West Monroe, LA; thirty two great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Sullivan of Minden, LA; sister, Jean Cook of Dallas, TX; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Lyndell Chaffin and Bro. Kyle Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Atlanta Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Dooly, Steve Dooly, Shawn Dooly, Adam Shepherd, Dusty Shepherd, and Kyle Jones.
Memorial donations may be made to Disciple the Nations, "Winnie Kate," PO Box 201, Magnolia, AR 71754.
