Sister Marietta's Franciscan spirit was evident in her love for God and all of creation. She graced the Motherhouse chapel and other areas with beautiful floral arrangements. "[Sister Marietta's] deep faith carried her through difficulties and loss of loved ones. She left us all an example of humility, creativity, and loving kindness."

Yes, how much these words ring true. Sister Marietta lived from a heart of loving kindness. In the spirit of JESUS and the beatitudes, she felt deep compassion and care for "the least," which was expressed through her commitment to social justice, as well as tending to the "little ones of creation --" birds, butterflies, herbs, and gardens. All of creation was valued by Marietta.

I am thankful that I came to know her.
