Marilyn W. August

Marilyn W. August, 86, of Somers, CT and beloved wife of Robert S. August, passed away on Sunday, June 25th, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents Orville and Beatrice Wilson, her sister Ida Evelyn Schmidt and her brother Herbert Wilson.
Marilyn was born December 14, 1936 and grew up in Agawam, MA. She attended Agawam high school and in 1955 was crowned the Centennial Queen. She married her high school sweetheart Robert August on May 4th, 1958. Marilyn graduated from Fones School of Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport. Marilyn and Bob became residents of Somers, where Marilyn treated the whole community with dental care. She loved tennis and the beaches of Cape Cod where she could be found digging clams for her famous oyster stew and stuffed clams. She was an avid bridge player in Colonial Acres.
Marilyn and Robert spent their later years searching for shells and enjoying the beaches of North Captiva, FL.
She leaves her husband of 65 years Robert S. August, her son Todd W. August of Arnold, MD and wife Florence, her grandchildren Tierney, Olivia, Mary, Toby, and great-grandchild Desmond Jane. Son, Trent W. August and his partner Lauren M. Cotter of Roseville, CA.
She also leaves nieces Nancy Lynn Schmidt and Donna Ruth Devine.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29th, 12:00 pm at Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St., Somers, CT. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
