Marilyn Sue "Beege" Bowers, 75, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born on January 22, 1948 in Morgantown, WV, daughter of the late Joseph and Vivian (Hughes) Bowers.
She was a graduate of Morgantown High School Class of 1966 and attended Morgantown Career College. She was self-employed as a painting contractor in Charleston, WV, and was employed in the WVU Department of Physical Education until her retirement. Beege organized all MHS Class of '66 Class Reunions/Birthday celebrations. For several years, she was on the Beautification Commission for the city of Morgantown.
Beege is survived by her brother, Bob Bowers in Richmond, VA; niece, Joelleyn Bowers Grimm (Walt) in Alpine Lake, WV; nephews, Joe Bowers in Morgantown and Greg Bowers in Richmond, VA; great nephew, Colin Kemp and great nieces, Saywaard and Mairwyn Kemp. Also surviving is her fur baby Maggie Jo.
The family would like to thank the Mon Health Medical Center staff for all of their assistance and kindness. Also, thanks to all of her close special friends.
Beege will be remembered by all who admired her love of life and wonderful sense of humor.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, March 17th from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bart Thompson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Beege's name can be sent to Animal Friends of North Central WV, 252 Brewer Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
