Marilyn Jean Cain, age 80, of Meadville, PA was born April 19, 1945 and peacefully passed away the morning of December 23, 2025. She married Patrick J. Cain on August 21, 1999. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2010.

Marilyn graduated from Townville High School and continued her education by attending Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse. After working many years for St. Vincent Hospital in various capacities, Marilyn retired and found joy reading, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and raising and releasing monarch butterflies.

Surviving are her sister, Martha Trounter of Meadville PA; children, Steve (Heather) Wykoff of Buckhannon, WV, Steve (Amy) Cain of Girard, PA and Michelle (Sean) Garnett of King-of-Prussia, PA and grandchildren, CJ (Heather) Wykoff, Spencer (Emily) Wykoff, Gabby and Emily Bacon, and Skylar and Max Garnett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Alford and her husband, Patrick J Cain.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday December 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to12:00 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA .Funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Sam Marchetta officiating.

Marilyn will be laid to rest with her husband at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
