Marilyn Shirley Clapper, age 94 of Copley, Ohio passed away on September 28, 2024.
Shirley was born on December 13, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to David and Mildred Senn of Copley. She graduated from Copley High School in 1948, then went on to marry her husband, Don, of 74 years. She and Don raised five children in Copley where they had their own cabinet business. Upon their retirement, they moved to North Port, Florida where they spent 17 years. Shirley was happiest when surrounded by members of her family. She was a very loving and generous mother who was always willing to accept others into her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister Jeanne Merton, and brothers Gerald Senn and David (Bud) Senn Jr.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings, Joan (Babe) Lutz of Venice, Florida, Roger (Julie) Senn of Akron, Karen Stavarz of Norton and Don Senn of San Francisco. She will also be missed by her children, David (Karen Bates) Clapper, Thomas (Janis) Clapper, Michael (Luzia) Clapper, Lynn (Ted) Goodyear and Patricia (Ken) Skelly. As well as by her grandchildren, Lee (Jamie) Clapper, Michael Clapper, Jenifer (Craig) Heinrich, Jeff Clapper, Matt Clapper, Jessica Goodyear, Todd Goodyear, Brooke (Matt Bramley) Cowgill, Stephen (Meggon) Skelly and Paul (Rose) Skelly. She'll also be missed by her 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday October 14, 2024 from 4-6pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley Ohio 44321. A Celebration of Life to follow at 6pm.
