Marilyn Galloway Crow

Marilyn Galloway Crow, age 75, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. She was born on March 29, 1949, in Hammond, Louisiana, to John and Tessie Galloway.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Carl H. Crow; children, Katherine Crow Anderson (Richard), Matthew Crow, and Erin Crow Hughes (Adam); grandchildren, John Parker Hughes, Addison Crow, Caroline Hughes, Amelia Crow, Andrew Hughes, Zachary Hughes, Rhett Hayes Hughes; and Lillian Anderson. She is also survived by her sister, Gwendolyn Galloway Derks; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lawrence Galloway and Tessie Mae Jenkins Galloway.
Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Covington and was a devoted member of New Zion Baptist Church. She received her master's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and spent her entire 33-year teaching career at Lee Road Junior High School.
After her retirement, Marilyn embraced the full-time role of "Grammy". She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Like her father before her, Marilyn was happiest out in her yard, where she enjoyed gardening and raising cattle. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, church family, and community.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
