Marilyn Fugere Obituary

Marilyn J. (Kreger) Fugere, 95, passed from this life into eternal life on February 20, 2025, from

a lengthy illness with congestive heart failure, surrounded by family at home, with the support of

VNA Hospice. Marilyn was born on March 24, 1929, in Exeter, NH, the daughter of the late

William Arthur Kreger and Rilla (Bishop) Ahlquist.

Marilyn grew up in Raymond and Fremont as a child while attending schools in Exeter, Fremont

and Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School, Class of 1947. Upon graduation she

began her career as a bookkeeper in Manchester, NH. In Fremont, NH, she met the love of her

life, Oliver J. Fugere, Jr. at a Firehall Dance and married him on November 13, 1954. He

enlisted in the Army, and she enjoyed being a military wife and mother and loved living at

different Military Bases making lifelong friends.

She remained a stay-at-home mom until all her children reached high school age. Throughout

her life, she held many bookkeeping positions but the one that touched her life, was with the

American Red Cross with personal participation in the orphans from Vietnam that were

evacuated to the states for adoption through Ft. Benning, GA.

Marilyn was a lifelong member of the Raymond United Methodist Church in Raymond, NH.

She was a past president of the Maple Wheadon VFW Post 4479 Auxiliary; member of the

American Legion Auxiliary; Legion of Valor Auxiliary; Gold Star Wives; Life Member of the

DAV Chapter 1, Manchester; Military Order of the Purple Heart #395 and Society of the First

Infantry Division (The Big Red One).

She enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting, doing puzzles, watching NASCAR, the Red Sox, Celtics

and Patriots, and loved reading and playing bingo. Above all she enjoyed her family time. She

loved seeing her children and their children and hearing stories of their lives. The Southern

Great-grandchildren called her Great-Gramma, and the Northern Great Grandchildren called her

GiGi. She will be truly missed by everyone that has been a part of her life.

She is predeceased in life by her husband of 42 years, Oliver J. Fugere (Mickey), parents, sisters,

Marlene Turner, Marion Kreger, granddaughter Sonya Marie Fugere, and great-granddaughter

Marilyn Rachelle Mott.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Michael Fugere (Virginia) of Raymond, NH, daughters Holly

Frost (Dennis) of Berry, AL, and Melody Fugere of Raymond, NH. She is also survived by

grandchildren, Braxie Williams, Michael Frost, Melody Marie Jordan, Lacey Bruno, Michelle

Fugere, Kathryn Frost, and Tiffany Dolan. She leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great

great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours, a memorial service with burial will be held later at the NH

Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn's memory may be made to:

SPCA, and in honor of her great-granddaughter, Marilyn Mott, www.themarilynfoundation.org.

The Marilyn Foundation strives to be different when it comes to supporting T1D (Type 1

Diabetes). Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH is assisting the family.

As she would always say to everyone, "Goodnight, I love you, byeeeeee"
